  1. Thanks for such a nice tribute and retrospective on someone, who accomplished so much in a lifetime that was way too short. My long ago memories as a high school classmate(Jefferson HS, Portland, Oregon, Class of 1956) include Garland’s service as a class officer, his selection as the best male dancer in our class and as an all around nice guy.


    1. Thanks Jim. Garland was an intense and authentic man. He had a wonderful sense of humor and we thank Portland for giving him to us.
      I communicated with him when he went back in the late 90’s early 2000. He loved the city and his home.
